Comics Britannia update

The BBC has a short press release on the upcoming Comics Britannia series this September (spotted via Padraig’s LiveJournal). I heard from one of the folks involved with this recently and the transmission dates aren’t fixed exactly yet, but should be quite soon. They have talked to a number of top UK comics creators – Leo Baxendale told me he has been chatting to them and will feature in the series and names like Alan Moore and David Lloyd among others were mentioned (not confirmed yet though), so it looks like being a great series (especially if it is half as good as last year’s Science Fiction Britannia). Scots comedian Armando Iannucci will be narrating the series, which goes from the 30s to the present day; the Comics Britannia series will be BBC4′s centrepiece to their comics season, which will also take in In Search of Steve Dikto with Jonathan Ross and programmes on Modesty Blaise and Adam West’s Batman.
