Thanks to Mike for letting us know the state of play with Comics International. I guess all we can do is wait and see, and hope his approach leads to getting the magazine back on a regular schedule, which is the most important thing.

Apologies for the boo-boo over the page count and the missing issue number-that’s what I get for shooting from the lip!

Speaking as an editor and publisher I know how crazy and frustrating things can get when a magazine gets behind schedule, whatever the reason. Of course, readers don't want to hear excuses -- they want their favourite magazine, and as pointed out above, it's a testament to the long-standing readership of Comics International that Mike Kinsella cares enough to ask the questions he has.

From talking to Mike, I think the CI team are beginning to get back on track and I wish them well as they work their way out of what has been a difficult period for the title.

Personally, I think the direction the title has taken is a good one: print has to offer something the web can't, and that is no easy task, as all publishers of so-called 'niche' magazines are discovering. When you have great news sources online like this blog, Journalista and many more US-oriented comics news sites, the publishers of CI are right to broaden their coverage of comics, and try and deliver things you won't easily find online or elsewhere.

Let's hope Mike's publishing crisis is now well on its way to resolution and CI is now back on course.

I'm delighted Mike's considering bringing back some kind of editorial column.
