Dave Evans from the excellent (and Eagle-nominated) FutureQuake Press drops me a line to say that the Cult Fiction exhibition (blogged about here a few weeks ago) is going on the road, with a run at the New Art Gallery in Walsall coming up from the 5th of May to the 1st of July. The exhibition explores the relationship between ‘fine’ arts and comics art and how they have influenced one another over the years, with artwork from the likes of Julie Doucet, Killoffer, R. Crumb and more and even features an illustrated catalogue designed by Fantagraphic’s own Jacob Covey.
Dave tells me he has managed to get permission to set up a table for Futurequake titles at the opening weekend, so if you are in the area you now have twice as many reasons to go along – go and enjoy some cool art and do please buy something from Dave because FutureQuake is one of our great British indy comics publishers and you will enjoy it. On the Cult Fiction theme, it might be worth reminding budding artists out there that the Hayward who organised the original exhibition are calling for mini-comics to be submitted for possible inclusion – details can be found here.
