Stripburger, the Slovenian cartoon and comic magazine, is contributing to the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts, which is being organized for the 27th time as we speak. They have invited Les Requins Marteaux, the celebrated French independent publisher of comics and graphic novels, for two very special events. On September 4th at 9 PM, the Ferraille Museum will open its doors. This exhibition, which covers the commercial success of Monsieur Ferraille (that other Metal Man) will run in the Kapelica gallery until September 16th.
The next day, on September 5th, two films by les Requins will be screened at the Kindovor cinema, followed by a panel discussion with the creators themselves. Before the screening, artists from Les Requins Marteaux and Ljubljana comics artists will join in a cartooning jam session. Les Requins Marteaux publish the comics magazine Ferraille Illustré, along with impressive graphic novels, like Pirus & Schlingo’s Canetor, Plexbolex’s L’Oeuil Privé and my countryman José Parrondo’s Ni Plus, Ni Moins.
