Gay representation in comics

Alex Fitch tells me that he is doing two shows this Thursday on Resonance FM; in addition to his usual spot on I’m Ready for my Close-up (which has covered a lot of comics and SF material) where he will be talking to gay director Duncan Roy about his new movie The Picture of Dorian Gray he will also, as part of London’s Pride Weekend, be doing an extra show at 5pm (a pilot for his new show Panel Borders) where he will be talking to Patricia Jeres, a former DC employee and now an advisory board member of Prism Comics (who promote lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender creators in the medium) about gay representation both within the comics pages and also behind the pen of the creators. The new Panel Borders site also has a handy list of links to some of the top-notch comics interviews Alex has featured this year, including ones with Alan Moore, Bryan Talbot and Paul Gravett, so I’d suggest bookmarking it.
