IBN Live reports that the animation business in India is booming, with outsourced work from large studios such as Disney and Sony and local work both fuelling a boom. The downside is that demand is outstripping the supply of trained animators leading to some speculation Indian animation companies may have to re-outsource work to other countries such as the Philippines or Taiwan, according to K Chandrashekaran, creative director, Toonz Animation. I wonder if in ten years or so we will be discussing the growing popularity of India-toons displacing anime?

The answer to this problem lies in the premier universities of India.
i am a student of BITS,Pilani,Rajasthan,India.
Here we hav a Department of students who hav taught themselves animation in blender and Maya,Flash and the like.
We even make short animation films that are screened during special events in our university, in front of a large audience.
So who thinks that ther is lack of people to work for Toonz and the like. They just need to start recruiting from the Campuses like BITS,Pilani. BITS,Pilani, has got many programmes like Practise school 1 & 2.. which act as university industry linkages .
Animation companies better start looking for talent in such campuses where they are bound to find students who are quite sound with the principles of Animation
