The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is 40 years old today. Nothing really to do with comics, but a good excuse to post the brilliant and oft-imitated cover artwork by Sir Peter Blake. Imagine doing all of this work, cutting out images on card, building a set of them to photograph, way back in the 60s, long before the digital revolution and easy-to-use Macs to manipulate the images. Still a brilliant piece of Pop Art (or even Pop Music Pop Art). The music’s pretty good too…
