Comics and cartoons

I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Virgin to bring this story to life, first as comics and eventually in film and other formats. Working with comics is creatively liberating – everything is possible. My character is sultry, sexy and kicks ass!” – yes, folks, adult superstar Jenna Jameson (stop pretending you don’t know who she is or what sorts of films she makes!) is the latest celeb to partner up with Virgin Comics, with a new series called Shadow Hunter due to debut in December, with a graphic novel collection to follow some time in 2008 . According to an article on Animation Magazine’s site Jenna’s presence in the creative process does not mean sex and nudity in the comic, which will be aimed at a mainstream readership. But since it goes on to say that Greg Horn is doing the cover for the first issue I’m thinking it might still be kinda sexy…

Hmm, we’ve had Nicholas Cage (and his son) and Guy (Mr Madonna) Ritchie and Deepak Chopra and now Jenna Jameson – anyone want to speculate on just who Virgin will announce a comics partnership with next? What about Al Gore for a series of Inconvenient Truth eco-adventure comics? I’m surprised they haven’t grabbed Quentin Tarantino so far. I’m just impressed I made it through this post without making some crass joke about Virgin and a porno star. Oops.
