Comics and cartoons, News

The Jerusalem Post (and a number of other sites) are reporting on cartoons in a book written by a Korean university lecturer Lee Won-bok as part of the “Distant Countries and Neighbouring Countries” series which is designed to teach children about other cultures and nations. Some cartoons were held to be offensive and anti-Semitic, such as one declaring that public debate in the USA ‘belongs to the Jews’. Eun-Ju Park of Gimm-Young, the Seoul publisher of the series, said that the author had apologised and that she herself would look into the matter to see what required correcting. One day I hope to run the shocking news of a cartoon that no-one was offended by anywhere in the world and everyone actually enjoyed. One day.

Jews are quickly becoming the most protected people on the planet. If in the cartoon he portrayed blacks as criminals and monkeys I doubht you would have ever heard of it. The fact is Jewish people have the most effective self defense media network in the world. They can on a moments notice mobilize hundreds of newspapers to report random incidents of anti semitism. The truth is Jewish people are victims of there own success. It is easy to assume they control everything when they hold a disproportionate amount of influential positions. The influence in the media goes without question. Americans have more knowledge of Jewish culture than any other minority group of its size. Their representation in congress is several times there percentage of the population. We have had a Jewish everything before a black anything. Jewish people are the over acheivers and they should be proud of it. Unfortunetly Israel has exploited the success of American Jews and abused there support by consistently engaging in behavior that encourages anti semitism. The good name of Jewish people are not being tarnished by comic book writers and kids knocking over head stones. The real generator of anti semitism are the anti gentile policies of Israel. The anger vents itself in many forms, all attacked as anti semitic. Perhaps one day the Jewish community will be subject to critism and review with the rest of humanity. For now they just will not let us.
