ICV2 reports that Xilam, a French animation company, will be creating an 85-minute animated Lucky Luke feature entitled Tous a l’Ouest, which is based on the album La Caravanne by René Goscinny and Morris. ICV2 notes this will actually be the fourth animated Lucky Luke movie, but the first to be made in over twenty years; Oliver Jean-Marie who directed Les Nouvelles Adventures de Lucky Luke TV series will be directing the new film. Xilam was founded in 1999, although its roots go further back to the early 90s to the famous French film company Gaumont’s involvement in televisions production, which included work on the international co-production of the Highlander TV series (which I really enjoyed).
