David Berner from Broken Voice Comics tells me that the last pages of issue one of Lee Munday’s The Lumbering Dead are now live on the Broken Voice site, meaning you can now read the entire issue. From David’s description: “Written and illustrated by UK artist Lee Munday, “The Lumbering Dead” is a five-part mini-series telling the story of a group of typically British lads living life in suburban Staines. Not that Ali G would recognize it as such – this Staines is the real deal!”
(cover to Lee Munday’s Lumbering Dead #1, riffing on any number of pop culture references)
“In this first introductory issue we follow Den and Scott and their motley collection of friends from video shop to pub – Den still haunted by the loss of his first true love and Scott by the promise of a trip to the cinema to see his favourite horror film (the “Lumbering Dead” of the title!)”
Lee is now working on the second issue, with signed printed versions available by emailing him directly at leeroy_tw@yahoo.co.uk. While you are checking out the Lumbering Dead do have a look round the rest of the Broken Voice site as there are several different comics all running online, it’s well worth a good browse.
