Competitions, Film, TV and radio

While we’re all waiting impatiently for the final season of the rebooted (and bloody brilliant) Battlestar Galactica, let’s take a trip back in time to the series which started it all, brainchild of Glen A Larson (who also brought us the disco-suited version of Buck Rogers), with a rather more paternal Commander Adama in the shape of Lorne Greene and the A-Team’s Dirk Benedict as Starbuck. Yes, it may often have been very cheesy, but high for scifi after Star Wars we still loved it anyway (actually I had great fun re-watching the original TV series last year – quite odd to re-watch it after seeing the new version). Mission Galactica: the Cylon Attack introduced another element that the rebooted new series would also make use of – the sudden and surprising appearance of another surviving Battlestar, the Pegasus, commanded by Lloyd Bridges (the Next Generation’s alluring Michelle Forbes would play the commander in the new version).

We have copies of Mission Galactica: the Cylon Attack to give away on DVD to some lucky winners – the first correct answer out of our virtual hat will bag themselves the DVD and the bonus of an excellent digital camera from Olympus (the respected camera makers, not the mountain of the gods); two runners-up will each receive a copy of the DVD. All you have to do is visit our new-look FPI webstore and sign in (no purchase necessary, as they say), then answer a very simple question to be in with a chance of winning. The closing date is Sunday 31st of August, so get on over and try your luck – and please have a browse round the latest incarnation of our webstore while you’re there.
