Film, TV and radio

According to the Hollywood Reporter NBC has been busy recruiting some top genre talent for the Heroes spin-off Origins, which brings in new characters just discovering their powers (some reports suggest that at least some of these characters may make the leap into the main show later on). Cult horror director-writer Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) will write and direct an episode, while Superman Returns co-writer Michael Dougherty will also write an episode. Film writer, director, actor and comics scribe Kevin Smith will also be stepping up to the plate to write and direct an episode of Origins; all three are said to be big fans of the series (can’t blame them for that), so it should be interesting.
