On Monday I mentioned a site found via Boing Boing which had posted up frames from various Simpsons episodes against frames from famous films which the scenes were pastiching. Dario left a comment saying that a Spanish site had actually run this first; now obviously I don’t know who did which posts and in which order, but the Spanish site Actualidad Simpson does have a lot of of these comparisons and offers more fun for the Simpsons/movie enthusiast, plus this site actually discusses the film and scenes (the King Kong/King Homer is especially good, with a lot more frames to compare). I picked up most of the references without needing to look at the text which either means my movie knowledge is better than I thought or more than likely it means I need to stop watching so many films and get out more. (warning – there is a little very tame nudity)
(Even the early cartoons aren’t safe from a Simpsons pastiche as Steamboat Itchy shows)
