Feast your eyes on this lovely kitty cat! This sabre-toothed big cat will be one of the creatures appearing in the second season of ITV’s science fiction series Primeval, which has seen ruptures in the space-time fabric allowing people to pass through to epochs long gone – and for creatures long extinct to make their way into our own. I actually quite enjoyed the first season – it wasn’t perfect (what is though?), but it had a good premise and the later episodes introducing the missing wife of our head scientist and the possibility that more was going on than they realised really perked it up beyond what could too easily have become a simple monster-of-the-week series. Certainly got my interest enough to see how it develops in the second series, and it is nice to see ITV investing in some prime-time telefantasy too (and giving it a second run to allow it to build). There’s a new micro-site being launched to support the new series – there isn’t much on it yet, but Dare Digital’s Helen Lawrence (who kindly sent us the above image to share with you) tells us that the site will have more added to it as the weeks go by, so it will be worth checking back before the new season and during its run. The second season of Primeval will be starting on ITV1 sometime early in 2008; get your extra large kitty litter in now.
