We’ve been really pleased with some of the top Doctor Who merchandise that’s accompanied the show since its relaunch; it’s also nice to see that as each new season progresses on the BBC we get treated to the announcement of further ranges based on the latest episodes. The very latest to be announced is this wave of 7″ action figures from the current season, which includes both the Judoon Captain (still think he looks like he could fit in the world of Hip Flask) and a Judoon trooper from the season opener, where Martha’s hospital is transported to the Moon, and Lileth, the Carrionite Witch from the second episode where the Doctor and Martha meet William Shakespeare.
Dalek Thay joins his fellow Dalek Sec from the Cult of Skaro (most recently seen in the two-part Daleks In Manhattan story) and, naturally, there is a Martha Jones figure (sadly not one of her in her maid’s outfit from last week’s story yet, blast) to go alongside a new version of David Tennant’s Doctor in blue suit and glasses (doing a very good impression of Jarvis Cocker, I think). The new wave 3 figures should be due in July and will be very, very popular, so best to get those advance orders in now. Hmmm, can I make a little more room on my desktop here for a couple of new additions? I suspect, yes… Both the Judoon and Martha also feature in the deluxe 12″ range of figures as well as the 7″ – there’s going to be a lot of happy Who fans out there!
