Film, TV and radio

Variety reports that the US SciFi Channel has picked up the rights to broadcast the third season of Doctor Who in America. The new season, which started a couple of weeks ago here in Blighty, should begin in the US in July (ironically with the Christmas special); the first couple of seasons have been solid performers for the US channel and with the BBC show now being broadcast in 30 countries it is pretty clear it can appeal to viewers well beyond the traditional British audience.
