Andrew Luke at Bugpowder pointed me in the direction of Katie Miranda’s fascinating blog Postcards From Palestine, from whence comes the above image supporting international calls for Alan Johnston, the kidnapped BBC reporter, to be released. Katie is working on art classes with Palestinian kids who don’t always get the chance to actually enjoy just being children and I think the non-cartoon parts of her Live Journal are also well worth reading (should especially interest readers of the excellent Regards From Serbia, for instance). I also couldn’t resist posting this cartoon (below) from her blog, “the ever elusive Diplomatic Horizon”, which does exactly what a good cartoon should, sums up the situation in a few lines of ink more effectively than a page of prose in a newspaper’s opinion column. Also seems to thematically go with Monday’s Zimbabwean cartoon take on the nature of diplomacy.
