The new Doctor Who spin-off the Sarah Jane Adventures is already set to have it’s own merchandise alongside the very popular range of Who merch, including a Sarah Jane action figure (30 and 40-something Who fans who grew up in the Pertwee-Baker era are swooning at this news as I speak), an alien communicator with UV pen and Sarah’s own spin on the sonic screwdriver, her sonic ‘lipstick’. Come on, don’t pretend you haven’t been watching just because it is on kid’s TV!
The Sarah Jane figure comes complete with a light-up Star Poet, the benign alien she befriended and should go perfectly with the Doctor Who figures. Speaking of which, there are some new season 3 Doctor Who figures just announced, including Laszlo (the unfortunate ‘pig-man’ hybrid from episode where the Daleks invade Depression-era Manhattan), a Weeping Angel from the brilliantly creep Blink, the Doc in a spacesuit from ’42′ and John Simm’s incarnation of The Master from the season finale, complete with laser screwdriver, as well as the older version of the Master/Professor Yana played by the renown actor Derek Jacobi. Do I have enough room on my desktop, I wonder…
