Stan the Man Lee has signed a deal with Disney, reports Tinseltown journal Variety. The 84 year old comics guru and his company POW! Entertainment have signed a multi-year contract to “develop and produce all forms of entertainment for all Disney Divisions.” There was little in the way of actual details, but Stan was, as ever, sounding very enthusiastic, “One of the most beautiful things about the arrangement is that we can do movies, television, DVD, publishing — you name it, Disney does it… I can only say we’re working on a number of things, and the one common denominator is they’re all high-concept projects and hopefully, they’ll all lend themselves to being great franchises. Also, they’re all going to be new and original. The whole purpose is to come up with new things, and Marvel owns the old characters anyway. That’s what makes it fun for me; if it was just resuscitating old things, I wouldn’t have been that interested.” So, no Disney animated Spider-Man with music by Elton John then?
