Alex Fitch tells me that tonight’s edition of Strip! on Resonance FM will be covering girls’ comics, with one of the speakers being none other than Dr Mel Gibson who was one of principal speakers at the recent Go Graphic event (covered here):
“Strip! – Comics for girls and (Hell) boys part 2
The second half of ComICA’s panel discussion on girls’ comics with Dr. Mel Gibson, Nina Myskow et al. and my interview with Duncan Fegredo and Sean Philips about Intersections, Hellboy: Darkness Falls, Marvel Zombies etc.”
Strip! goes out on Resonance FM tonight at 5pm and it may be worth either tuning in or listening to the stream as Alex has previously mentioned that unlike his normal shows the Comica spots won’t be featured in the regular podcasts that he normally posts up on his blog after transmission. However, talking of Alex’s blog, his show with Jim Mahfood and his show on Great British Cartoons are both now posted up as podcasts for your aural delight. Not from the show, but Alex also mentioned catching the preview of the Southland Tales movie and not exactly being overwhelmed by it; can’t say I am surprised – much as I want this to be a good movie given how much it has been delayed and reworked I was already suspecting that it might be a bit of a mess, although I know I will still end up going to see it anyway (perhaps I’d be better sticking with the graphic novels instead…).
