Industry News has a post about a set of legal documents from the late 1930s through to the mid 40s which pertain to the legal battle Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster fought with their publisher National Periodical Publications over payments and creators rights. It might be hard to think on these then-young creators struggling when today they are so highly regarded as creators of pretty much the most iconic superhero of all time, but as young creators starting out it was very different. The documents are not a complete set, but they do offer some detailed background to a very long-running comics dispute, which carried on for many, many years afterwards. (link via AF News)
