Alan at Australian publishers Ballistic – home of some exceedingly fine digital art books- kindly sent me a copy of their latest title, the third in their Exotique series which focuses on character art and boasts work by artists from 45 countries. I’ll post more on it next week once I’ve had a chance to sit and look at it properly, but I couldn’t resist sharing a couple of illustrations from it now to brighten your weekend. I thought Jaysin and Embrio’s ‘Electric Boogaloo’ (above) was very cool and had a strong comic book feel to it (I could easily see this as a cover to the Judge Dredd Megazine) while Alex Nice’s ‘Seduction’ (below) is a priceless take on a sexual pose cliché that had me laughing out loud (and it has some great use of texture and shadows).
