Comics and cartoons

The BBC has an article on a very unusual cartoonist from Africa – in Nairobi, Kenya, Humphrey Barasa creates daily cartoons touching on Kenyan life from politics to social issues, just as many cartoonists do. The difference is Humphrey doesn’t draw these cartoons for a newspaper, journal or comic, he draws them in chalk on a blackboard on the wall of a Nairobi bus shelter. “I like news, I follow news on the television and I read newspapers daily. If I find something interesting, if an idea comes to me, I just draw… Drawing is my passion. There’s no reason I won’t continue drawing, because I love drawing. I don’t make any money from it, it’s just for fun.” More power to your drawing arm, Humphrey. (link via Boing Boing)
