Comics and cartoons, Interviews

Paulo Patrício has returned with a whole bunch of Sudden Interviews for Mundo Fantasma; for those unfamiliar with it Paulo posts short but interesting interviews (in two languages, no less, shaming those of us who are less linguistically international) with a wide variety of comics creators. The new batch which has gone up following Paulo’s break include chats with Canadian creator Kevin Scalzo, American artist Vanessa Davis (who impressed Kenny with Spaniel Rage last year, must admit I rather liked that myself – pleased to see via Paulo that she is working on new material for D&Q), New Yorker Sara Varon who recently had Robot Dreams out from the very fine First Second and Paul Hornschemeier.

When Paulo asked Paul if his teenage bedroom still existed at his parent’s home, he replied “That room is still basically intact as I left it when I was eighteen. I sleep there when I’m visiting my parents. There are actually some drawings of that room in my recent book, The Three Paradoxes, so now anyone can visit it, which I should probably feel a little strangely about, I suppose.” So if you really want to know what a teenage comics artists bedroom looks like, now’s your chance!
