Comics and cartoons

I missed this recent post from Lew Stringer where he celebrates boy’s comic Toxic (which he contributes to) reaching the major landmark of the 100th issue. As Lew notes this is no mean feat, especially in today’s comics publishing climate and indeed in a climate where, Harry Potter aside, it is harder and harder to get young boys reading regularly. You may recall Matt Yeo, editor of Toxic, talked to us about the comic here last summer and was very enthusiastic about creating a vibrant mix that would keep attracting young lads to the comic (and hopefully many will pick up other comics as they get older) – obviously he and his team have been doing something right to reach the 100th issue, so many congratulations to them all.
