William Gibson is interviewed about his new novel Spook Country in one of the latest shows from the excellent and quirky literary podcast the Bat Segundo Show, where the conversation takes in technology, Cory Doctorow, ZX81s (hands up who remembers using those!) and escaping handcuffs using a ball point pen before somehow turning to the imagery of a warm blankies in Bill’s novels (could Bill Gibson secretly harbour a desire to be Schulz’s Linus?):
Correspondent: We were talking about the nature of blankets and coats that are in your work, that often protect the characters’ bodies.
Gibson: Warmy blankies in the work of William Gibson! Well, did you notice that a lot? Is it just that book? Is there something I’ve been…?
