An excited Chris Staros from excellent Indy publisher Top Shelf is telling everyone that Bruce Willis has signed to star in a film adaptation of Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele’s fine science fiction graphic novel Surrogate. Terminator 3′s (and U-571, but let’s not dwell on that, shall we) Jonathan Mostow is directing, with shooting due to commence in February 2008; Mostow describes the Surrogates as “a mind-bending and brilliantly provocative piece of fiction.” Chris also mentions that Venditti is mid-way through writing the second in the series, Surrogates: Flesh and Bone, which should be due in print sometime in 2009; Brett will return for art duties – more details can be found on Variety.
