Hipster Dad makes an impassioned plea for Grant Morrison and all concerned publishers to sit down and sort out the legal wrangling over the brilliant Zenith strip from 2000AD so we can actually have it reprinted. I second and third that request – Zenith is a piece of gold from early Morrison work and if anything seems even more fascinating in retrospect, viewed against his later work doing all sorts of weird and wonderful things with the superhero genre and you can also trace some of the roots of the Invisibles here too. Sadly, although it is one of the strips I hear most fans saying they really want to see again Grant’s comments in the recent Thrill Power Overload don’t point to any resolution in the near future allowing it to once more see the light of day. Which is a shame for a hell of a lot of readers.

(Zenith on the cover of 2000AD, art by Steve Yeowell, script Grant Morrison, (C) – well, depends on who among the arguing parties is right, really…)

God yes, wouldn’t that just be lovely.
Until then I’ll keep hold of my old Titan collections and the loose pages from various 2000AD issues that make up my collection of Phase 4.
But I’ll not be holding my breath for this anytime soon.
