Comics and cartoons

The possible demise of the Batman has made even the august pages of the Times take note; I like the way Michael Moran compares publishers killing off a major character to the same way magazines use a ‘sex’ issue to try and improve readership figures – he may have something there. Perhaps DC should think about that and perhaps combine the two – have a death scene for the Dark Knight (and we all know death isn’t a terminal condition in the world of comics) and why not have a sex issue flung in to boot? A Batman-Catwoman rumpy-pumpy special sex issue before he gets bumped off? No? Just me that thinks that would sell a few issues? Not to mention giving us all something new to discuss and/or disparage on the portrayal of women in comics front? (thanks to Ian at Yatterings for the link)

    Oh blessed coincidence.
The author of the Times piece is Michael Moran. Is that Mike Moran, long thought dead alter ego of MarvelMan/Miracleman? He was a journalist too as I recall!
