Over on the Daily Cross Hatch Brian Heater has finished assembling a massive best of the year list from some fifty contributors, including Dan Goldman, Dean Haspiel, Austin English, Paul Gravett, Molly Crabapple, Bob Fingerman, Simon Fraser, Joe Keatinge, Jeff Lemire, Larry Marder, Joe Matt, Tony Millionaire, Josh Neufeld, Jeff Smith and yours truly among many others, meaning there is a pretty diverse array of opinions and tastes. And I’m with Brian when he says that in a volatile market it seems to be the independent presses who are making headway both in more sales and in the respect they are garnering (I must admit I picked several Top Shelf books for my choices, which I’ll expand on here later on) for interesting works.
