Doctor Who – The Forgotten

Via IDW publisher Chris Ryall’s art blog comes this fantastic (and slightly creepy) teaser image of the new Doctor Who comic: The Forgotten, out in August 2008:

After e-mailing Chris for some more details he was good enough to send this brief teaser description and, more importantly, the very pleasing to the eye cover of issue 1 of the Forgotten by Nick Roche:

Stranded in a strange Museum that’s dedicated to him; and with no TARDIS in sight, The Doctor and Martha must make sense of their surroundings, hindered by one small fact – The Doctor has lost his memories of every one of his previous incarnations! With items relevant to each Doctor in their possession, The Doctor must try to use them to regain his memories before it’s too late, starting with his earliest incarnation’s memories, involving Susan, Barbara and Ian. This all-new series written by Tony Lee (Starship Troopers) features artist Pia Guerra in her first monthly comic since Y The Last Man!

Cover to Doctor Who: The Forgotten # 1. Art by Nick Roche. Published IDW.

No more details than that are available as yet, but hopefully the series will be long enough to allow it to have themed covers with each of the Doctor’s incarnations. Those would look lovely mounted on the wall! And the actual comic itself sounds like it will be one to keep a look out for. The only question is: when will it be available in the UK? (Chris reckons Panini may put it out late 2008)

  5. gecks Says:

well I hope this is a better story line then the novel, the Eight Doctors, where he lost his memory, and had to contact his past selves, in order to regain his knowledge, i mean, he shoulda just seen immediate previous incarnation, gained all his memory through sylvester, and it coulda saved a small plantation!

  6. gecks Says:

not to mention this memory loss bit was also done in a short trips novel, though with more imaginaton, from the Seventh’s doctor’s perspective a detective, and a psychic.

how bout something a little more orginal?
