The Hollywood Reporter carries news that ABC have greenlit a one hour pilot episode based on Bill Willingham’s award-winning comics series from DC’s Vertigo, Fables. Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner, creators and executive producers of Six Degrees, are penning the script; encouragingly both have been fans of the comics for several years, so fingers crossed that means an adaptation faithful to the source material. Obviously a pilot is a long way from a commitment to a full series, but I’d imagine Fables, with a good existing readership and a line rich in folklore, fairytale and myth would sit rather well with the current trend for quality telefantasy (thanks to Darren T for the link).
