The Golden Globes (stop tittering, its not really rude, you just think it is) nominees were announced last night; I found the Best Animated Film category pretty disappointing – Bolt, Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E and that’s it. Bolt I haven’t seen, Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda I enjoyed, but its such a predictable mainstream set of choices its rather disappointing. Elsewhere in the nominations Waltz With Bashir gets a nod in the Best Foreign Language Film section, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is competing for the Best Motion Picture (Drama) gong (its screenwriter Eric Roth also gets a nod in Best Screenplay), Heath Ledger is nominated for the Dark Knight in the Best Supporting Role category; elsewhere its pretty slim pickings for fantastical genres, especially in the TV section, which is slightly surprising given the popularity of recent quality telefantasy. The full list can be found on the official site.
