The delectable Christina Ricci talks to Sci Fi Wire about her role as Trixie in the Wachowski’s upcoming live-action movie adaptation of the classic manga and anime Speed Racer and finds that she is perfectly cast for the role: “I have big eyes and a small chin. People have told me that I looked like [an] anime [character] for a long time, and so after a while you’re like, ‘OK, fine.’ … I wanted to work with the Wachowskis, and I’ve been hearing about Speed Racer for the past 10 years, and people have said for a really long time that I should play Trixie and that I look like Trixie. So I thought, ‘Awesome. I’ll go in and read for this.” Personally anything that puts more Christina on the big screen is fine with me and now she mentions it I do think she looks a bit like an anime re-incarnation of Louise Brooks with that hairstyle and that’s not a bad thing… (thanks to Ariel for the link)
