Lew Stringer posts some sad news as another old school comics creator leaves us for the great drawing board in the sky. Ken Hunter died on the 20th aged 91; as Lew notes his work graced many a British comics page, including two now long-gone kid’s comics that I used to love when I was a nipper, the Beezer and the Topper, which I remember (and Lew comfirms in his article) came in a much larger, tabloid format, different from all the other comics I was devouring back then and I’m sure I would have read some of Ken’s without knowing it. The Topper always demanded that the child take over a good chunk of the living room floor to lie there by the fire reading it as it was too big to hold up and read while sitting. Which just made it more special.
