“Let’s do the time warp again…”

It’s just a jump to the left...”

Okay now I’ve stuck that iconic song from the Rocky Horror Show into your heads (you’ll be whistling it all day, don’t be shy, do the actions while you do, brighten your day!) I’ll confess that was a weak link to news of the new CAPTION 2008 event which Jay Eales tells us will now be known as CAPTION TIMEWARP. And when I read that name I automatically thought Rocky Horror because that’s the way my brain is wired… Actually when you read this description from Jay you’ll see that it is a pretty appropriate title; its a shame with so many British comics anniversaries to celebrate that long-time CAPTION supporter Steve Whitaker won’t be there, but I’m sure the folks attending the event will be thinking of him:

“In the year that celebrates the 80th anniversary of The Beano, the 30th anniversary of Bryan Talbot’s seminal Luther Arkwright, the 25th anniversary of Escape and the 20th anniversary of Deadline, Caption Timewarp will take place once again at the East Oxford Community Centre over the weekend of 9th/10th August. We are now accepting illustrations/ comic strips on the Timewarp theme for inclusion in the convention programme/ exhibition/ auction. Contact Jay Eales for more info at: jay (dot) eales (at) googlemail.com.” (thanks to Matthew Badham for the link)
