George Lucas, escorted by Stormtroopers, was banging the drum for the upcoming CGI animated Clone Wars which, as previously mentioned, will also get a theatrical release (at least in the US) ahead of the TV broadcast. “I think it can live up to the live-action movies,” commented Lucas at the ShoWest event. I enjoyed the short animated Clone Wars cartoons from a couple of years back and was initially wondering why they ditched them in favour of this all CGI approach, but I have to admit the short trailer they have for it on the official site does look like a blast. Also at the ShoWest gig Warners rolled out Christophers Bale and Nolan to showcase The Dark Knight, which apparently got the biggest round of applause when they screened some footage. (via Variety)
