Film, TV and radio

Yes, folks, all of these fine British movie Gothic staples – plunging necklines on amply bosomed heroines as they scream, lurid use of colour film and a great array of cinematic monsters – are being celebrated as the Royal Mail issues stamps commemorating fifty years of the one and only Hammer Horror studios. This is part of a set of original movie poster designs, which will also include fifty years of another British film tradition, the seaside naughty postcard fun of Carry On movies. Yes, both may now seem anachronistic and rather tame, but go on, admit it, if a Hammer or Carry On movie comes on TV you know you watch some of it… (source: the BBC)
