Bond 22 now has an official name – “Quantum of Solace”. The title is drawn from a short story collection written by Bond’s creator Ian Fleming in the 60s; according to Daniel Craig the title reflects how Bond’s heart was broken at the end of his first big mission as a double-0: “at the end of the last movie, Bond has the love of his life taken away from him and he never got that quantum of solace… So he’s looking for revenge, you know, to make himself happy with the world again.” Craig also hinted that the title alludes to something else in the film but didn’t divulge what that was.

Filming is ongoing at the famous Pinewood Studios – Olga Kurylenko told the BBC that she has been hard at it preparing for her role as Camille, undertaking weapons training and being trained for aerial scenes. Mathieu Amalric, who plays the villian of the piece, Dominic Greene, told a press conference his character had “the smile of Tony Blair and the crazy eyes of Nicholas Sarkozy.” I like that. The BBC’s Razia Iqbal has a short video tour of one of the film’s sets on the Beeb’s webpage.
