Bestselling science fiction and fantasy author Orson Scott Card has been honoured by the American Library Association with the 2008 Margaret A. Edwards Award in recognition of his “outstanding lifetime contribution to writing for teens” for the novels Ender’s Shadow and Ender’s Game. Orson has been very well known to SF&F readers on both sides of the Atlantic for many years now, while his name has also more recently become familiar to comics readers with the adaptations of his works such as the Red Prophet: Tales of Alvin Maker comics and graphic novels as well as the Ultimate Iron Man which Orson has been writing for Marvel (in fact a second collection is due this spring).
