Alex Fitch kindly updates us on the latest part of the Panel Borders series of broadcasts: Monday’s Strip! show will feature Duncan Nott talking to Karen Wenborn about the new Classical Comics graphic novels such as their Henry V adaptation, which are perfect for encouraging reading and as study aids:
“Panel Borders: Classical Comics
In the first Panel Borders of the new year, Duncan Nott conducts an interview with Karen Wenborn about her company’s adaptations of classic literature in comics format. Following in the footsteps of the beloved Classics Illustrated alongside recent Marvel and Manga adaptations of notable fiction, Classical Comics are publishing three versions of each Shakespeare text – the original play (unabridged), a ‘plain text’ version and a ‘quick read’ version for students of varying age and ability and have so far adapted Henry V and Macbeth. Classical also have forthcoming graphic novel adaptations of Jane Eyre & Great Expections which are to be shortly released with more to follow, so Duncan talks to Karen about these books, the challenge of fitting in with the National Curriculum and encouraging children to read. ”
The interview can also be listened to right now via the new Panel Borders blog which Alex set up, which also has links to the first four of his podcasts for SciFi London too.
