I somehow missed spotting the results for the Cartoon Art Trust Awards until Tom Spurgeon mentioned that the great Raymond Briggs had been honoured at them with a lifetime achievement award, one of those rare illustrators and cartoonists who can delight both adult and child readers, deftly moving between both worlds with quite lovely artwork and often very moving characters. Others who picked up awards included Jeremy ‘Banx’ Banks, Nicola Jennings and Alex creators Peattie and Taylor; Down The Tubes‘ John Freeman has the full details.
