Tim Burton’s latest Gothic-tinged flick, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, has won at the Golden Globes (which was a much-reduced affair from its usual, glittering Tinsel Town self due to the writer’s strike with most actors and directors agreeing not to cross the picket line to attend). Sweeney Todd won the Golden Globe for best musical or comedy, while frequent Tim Burton muse Johnny Depp, possibly the only man in the world with cheekbones which could give James Marsters a run for his money, also won for best actor in a musical or comedy. Which gives us a good excuse to post a pic of Johnny and reminds me I must pick up some new razor blades on the way home… Not too many other genre winners this year, although Pixar picked up another gong when Ratatouille beat the Simpsons and the Bee Movie to win the best animated feature category.
