The Simpsons was one of several shows to be honoured at the Prism awards in Beverly Hills, which are given to mark films and television programmes which offer realistic portrayals of mental health or substance abuse problems. The award was for the episode “Crook and Ladder” which saw a sleep-deprived Homer turning to sleeping pills with serious side effects making him very suggestible.
