The BBC reports that Star Wars is heading for the stage – Star Wars: a Musical Journey will see the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing music from the films with specially edited excerpts from the six movies appearing on large screens. The one and only John Williams has substantially reworked his famous music for the live experience, which will begin a European tour after a world premiere in London’s O2 arena in April and also includes an exhibition of art, props and costumes from the films. Somehow I doubt the reworked musical score will include the disco version of the Star Wars theme – “the one you can dance to!” – which appeared in the wake of the first films’ massive success back in ‘77…
