Today is the sixtieth anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights; December 10th, 1948, fresh from the horrors human visited upon human in the Second World War, the articles of the Declaration were read out. Sadly even today in free and democratic societies, let alone corrupt dictatorships, a number of these articles are routinely ignored, circumvented or simply broken; a good reason to remind ourselves of them
