Wow! What a website. You have a real knack for making a blog easy on the eyes. Some sites look like train wrecks, but not this site - it's a pleasure to visit. I have been a fan of anime since I was 11 years old. Nice to see a site like this one, it brings back a lot of memories for me. Thanks. I found your site while looking for something else on Google. I don't have time to read it all right now, but I have bookmarked the home page and will come back regularly to see your latest articles. Please check out my site at www.upxy.com and let me know what you think. Have a good weekend!

I think you are right about the insidious qualities of Ito's work. I am amazed at the way he captures a moment - you know how the camera does a sort of retake and suddenly there is a figure just standing there and in Japanese movies it's scary, but in US remakes it looks daft? Well, somehow he manages to draw that moment and it shouldn't work because it's a drawing, but it somehow does. Maybe you are right Katherine, it somehow seeps in.

I have Voices in the Dark and New Voices in the Dark, when I flicked through them, I kept looking nervously over my shoulder.
