2D, Northern Ireland’s comics festival, is underway this weekend, centred around the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry; there’s the All-Star Comics Workshop this very afternoon at the Verbal, the State of Comic Art panel tonight (in Sandino’s Bar) and the Eclectic Micks Homegrown Heroes panel. Saturday sees a whole bunch of events (including Bryan Talbot previewing some of the brilliant-looking Grandville) and Sunday, among other attractions, boasts a Q&A with David Lloyd while other guests include Liam Sharp, D’Israeli, Rufus Dayglo, Declan Shalvey,Bridgeen Gillespie, Stephen Downey, Glenn Fabry, PJ Holden and others; it looks like a great weekend, so if you’re in the area please do go enjoy yourselves and lend some support to the local comics scene at the same time – check the official site for more details.
