You may recall that I have a great fondness for Howard Hardiman’s Badger comic (here, here and here). And I described it thus:
“This tale of a lonely little badger living all alone in his London flat is heartbreakingly, tearjerkingly sad. I could write a really lengthy review and completely over-analyse something that’s actually a very simple, near perfectly constructed tale.”
Well, Howard’s been running his webcomic over at his Cute But Sad website for a while now and although it’s a different experience reading it panel by panel with a weeks gap, it’s still lovely to read when there are a few to go through. This week sees the moment Howard’s been building up to since the beginning; the birth of Baby Badger. It will be cute beyond reason.
(Episode from Howard Hardiman’s Badger webcomic – the comic has a split narrative – on the left, the start of Badger’s life with a very pregnant Mom settling down for birth and on the right – Badger as he is now.)
Howard’s talking about collecting the webcomic into print at some point very soon. And as much as I’m enjoying the webcomic, I think it will be so much more enjoyable to relax with the complete story, without that damnably long wait between episodes!
